No matter how much of an island you think you might be you are well connected and well influenced by the world around you. The second you step out of the womb you’re given a color to enact, a social class to conform to, and often times an expectation to manifest that you did not have a say in.
Time to be transparent…
Walking around a dialogue is happening in the transcendent space of my mind that is loud enough for me to hear, clear enough for me to witness, yet oblivious to everyone around. One says, “Look, the way you’re doing this isn’t working. Let’s work on our reception. How can we do this to be this?” The other side just sits there, dumbfounded and silent trying to figure out what to do. She tries it for a while but then she feels discomfort. Why does this ache? Why am I having a personal early morning date with the 4am mark? Why is the world getting smaller? Try to pack in more of what they say is right and either silence or kill what they say is weak… What is really going on? Then a third voice chimed in, “Why are you trying to be something that I never tailored for you to be? Ever ask yourself that question? Did it ever cross your mind? Never did here. But now it resonates.
This skin, this personality, these flaws, these triumphs, and this being was fashioned, fire tested, and perfected just for me. When God sat back and decided to cast the characters of this story He wrote out your name and in it was a character enriched with the finest elements uniquely created for you. So, no matter the image imposed on you by the outsider, look to the insider to find the real you. He told me that I was fearfully and wonderfully made so this casing can hold my bones, organs, grandma’s dunk, eccentricities, anomalies, gifts, talents, and abilities because I am the perfect model for the unique brand. So, as they say, “Love the skin you’re in!”
Night :-)
Writing it all down and making it all plain. As He teaches me I share. This is iron sharpening iron so read, ponder, and share your thoughts! Let successfully master the tightrope!

Don't look down just walk forward!
For a few years now I've had these words playing over and over again in my head, "Life's a balancing act." Everyday you walk the same routine line and depending on your position on the totem pole your either leading, supporting, or holding up the rear. No matter where you fall on that line your have to learn how to keep all ten toes on that skinny rope that can tend to hurt the ball of your foot, slip between your toes, or even show signs of tearing as it tries to hold your weight. It's never near the ground or just above a child's inflatable jumper where you can step down if your bored, tired, or just give up. You have to race the rope and pray to God that you don't slip and fall because you lacked focus and could not keep your balance. This blog isn't about giving up and falling off or the expectation that you'll have a spring board underneath you to magically spring you back up if you just decide to fall. It's for the people that are consciously walking the rope who know that they have no choice but to brave the atmospheric pressure and just do it. Don't be fooled, the rope isn't a one shot deal. You start at one point situated on a cliff that's safely nestled on a country side and you are forced to look at the chasm between you and the next plush valley of milk and honey that you can only reach by way of a rickety bridge that will take some serious maneuvering. Today I stood on the banks of a rich and fertile land that was beginning to show dry patches and I was forced to take a deep breath because I knew the next step was gonna be on that rope. Left foot, wobbling on the rope...right foot, toes on cliff's edge and heel raised...no turning back. Walk with me or if nothing else pray with me. For anyone else standing at the edge looking around feeling like your ledge is isolated amongst the clouds at an elevation where there are no other voices, sounds, sights, or comforts, be comforted in knowing that I'm on the cliff next to you. Let's go! Goodnight walkers :-)
